Introducing the Autumn/Winter 2019 Pre-Collection
Introducing the
Autumn/Winter 2019
Pre-Collection
A collection that explores personal style, captured through the lens of British photographer Mark Borthwick.
In his signature minimal and crisp photographic style, Borthwick creates a portfolio of imagery that celebrates the many facets of the new Burberry characters, with fashion in full frame. The campaign forms an eclectic mix of modern styling notes for the individual to be inspired by.
Bold, contemporary cues signal a new Burberry vision. The Thomas Burberry Monogram, signature animal prints, scarf play and the Icon stripe run throughout the collection, as well as incarnations of Burberry beige – from honey to new vintage oak.
In a celebration of new silhouettes for women, jersey is elevated to goddess status in dresses that fall with effortless fluidity and contrast with twinset suits.
First introduced on the Spring/Summer 2019 runway, foulard silks detailed with new and archive prints are spliced into jackets and cardigans, while classic shirts are reimagined with intricate patterns.
Equestrian details are a nod to the Burberry archive, across ready-to-wear and accessories. For the classic lady, the TB Bag is showcased in new, exciting iterations – in luxurious suede and embossed leather – while the Title bag is introduced, a design of elegant simplicity.

Tailoring with exquisite attention to detail is celebrated in the new English-fit suit, a menswear cut established by Riccardo Tisci and inspired by Savile Row. From pinstripe and deconstructed check to Monogram jacquard – tailoring speaks to both day and night.
Ties colour-match shirts, giving the classically British gent a new twist on the twinset.
Youthful style contradictions clash throughout the collection. Party dresses are teamed with oversized ponchos and biker boots; t-shirts are layered with corseted sweatshirts.
The iconic trench coat prevails; classic outerwear is updated in studded satin and voluminous silhouettes and worn with the new Lola – with a double chain strap, the soft, unstructured little sister of the TB Bag.
Easy-to-wear menswear pieces effortlessly create a modern, informal uniform. Striking separates in matching tones are worn from head to toe.
A utilitarian parka with workwear details is taken apart and reassembled, while sweatshirts and shorts become the new off-duty suit.
